Step 1: Locating the Official Chrome Web Store Page

To begin, open your Google Chrome browser. While you can search for the extension, the safest practice is to navigate directly to the Chrome Web Store and search from there, ensuring you find the legitimate publisher.

Step 2: Adding the Extension to Chrome

  • Never share your Secret Recovery Phrase with ANYONE, under ANY circumstances. MetaMask support will never ask for it.
  • Keep your SRP offline. Write it down on multiple physical backups (paper/metal) and store them in secure, physically separate locations (e.g., a home safe and a safety deposit box).
  • Be wary of unsolicited links or smart contracts that ask for excessive permissions (like "Set Approval For All"). Always research before connecting your wallet to a new DApp.
